This is the second time Determination Drilling was awarded a job in Labarador, Nfld for a geotechnical drilling and environmental drilling project.
This video shows some crew members crossing a creek on an Argo Carrier, then through the bush to locate and drill a borehole.
The project was for a design of a rail line from the Wabush Mines to Labrador City. Site duration lasted 45 days or more, working almost everyday with no crew rotation.
The scope of work only consisted of geotechnical drilling through overbuden, so using our hollow stem augers was the method for drilling, with any type of sampling required through the centre of our augers. Sampling consited of split spoons every 2.5 feet and a shelby tube sample conductded in soft clays.
Project was completed succesfully and within project expectations.
